The factory bearing in my '06 Forester was made by NTN, which I couldn't find outside of a dealership or for less than $80. This Timken is actually made by Koyo, which is also a very-well-respected manufacturer. Fitment was great. I used OEM Subaru oil seals I purchased at the dealership. The original bearing was so badly worn, it had spun on the hub and ruined it as well. If my friend/mechanic hadn't had another OEM hub laying around, I would've needed a new one. Also, Timken says on their website that their wheel bearings are shipped with grease for corrosion prevention, but need to be repacked with actual bearing grease before installation. My mechanic actually called Timken and was told that it does NOT need repacked, and then confirmed in person that the grease included was actual bearing grease.
